Our Fantasmic! Dining Package at the Blue Bayou!
We're wrapping up our winter trip to the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA by doing two things that we've never done before...dining at the Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square, and watching the ‘Fantasmic!’ Nighttime Spectacular! Disneyland offerings dining packages with reserved seating for this show at three different restaurants in the park and we were fortunate enough to have snagged a package for the Blue Bayou. This well-known eatery is nestled inside the Pirates of the Caribbean bayou scene and part of the fun is watching boats filled with ride patrons float by. The restaurant features a night sky no matter when you dine, complete with plucky banjo, cypress trees, and fireflies to set the scene. We were seated right next to the water for the ultimate view. The dining package features a limited menu of some of the most popular offerings of the Blue Bayou. For a flat rate of $89 per adult, you may choose a starter, entrée, and dessert. We tried two different starters and entrées, but we both had to try the famous vegan crème brûlée. Made with cashews, this delectable dessert was the star of the meal. Overall, we thought the food at Blue Bayou was pretty good and worth the value of the dining package.
After our meal, we had a few hours to ourselves before the big show because we chose the second Fantasmic! showtime. This was prime-time to get some popular rides done while the first show was happening. About 30 minutes prior to showtime, we checked-in with cast members in front of the Haunted Mansion who guided us to our reserved viewing area. Our Blue Bayou package secured us a center an up close and centered view of the show. We were instructed to remain seated, and anyone who was unable to do so would be escorted to alternative location. We had never seen ‘Fantasmic!’ before, in Disneyland or Walt Disney World, and it was such a delight to finally see this popular spectacle.
