Legends of the Fog: First Drive-Thru Haunt in MD!
This past weekend we attended a very special haunt located in Aberdeen, MD. “Legends of the Fog” is traditionally a walkthrough event, much the same as other local haunts hosted by “Field of Screams” and “Markoff’s Haunted Forest”. This year, to combat guest concerns of COVID-19 exposure, the ‘Legends’ team did something a little bit different - they retooled, refocused and reshaped their event to create Maryland’s very first drive-thru haunt experience! Cars full of families and friends were organized into lanes and filed one-by-one through a registration and dispatch process. LotF staff (wearing masks) helped guests sync a specially-crafted audio accompaniment to their car stereos via bluetooth, and cars crawled through a series of haunting scenelets at 5mph. Overall, we found this to be one of the best and most unique haunts we’ve ever attended - as well as one of the most cost-effective models ever devised! Although the event was created by necessity due to the pandemic, we are hopeful that similar events may be available in the future as an alternative to the standard haunts we see every year. Check out our video to get a (spoiler-free) sneak peak of what we experienced!
