Is Halloween Horror Nights Better in Hollywood?

For nearly three decades, banners saying ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ have been raised at not one but two different theme parks in North America - one in Orlando, FL, and the other in Hollywood, CA. So, which campus puts on the best version of Halloween Horror Nights? To make that determination, let’s take a look at the seven deadly things that make HHN the event that it is on both coasts.

Darkwood Manor Unleashes the Phantom Forge!

We were invited out to Darkwood Manor, an iconic haunted attraction nestled just outside Shenandoah National Park, to help the team kick off its 2024 haunt season - and were some of the first to square off against the hellscape of the Phantom Forge and the rogue artificial intelligence known only as P.E.G. - an experience we will not soon forget!

Leading Lambs to the Slaughter at Red Vein

Red Vein Haunted House, an independent haunt located on Hanover Vegetable Farm, has been a growing force in Virginia’s haunt scene for nine years. Despite frequently passing through the area, we had never been able to experience Red Vein firsthand until owner and creative architect Ryan Sligh invited us out to help themkick off their 2024 operating season. Having heard nothing but praise from fellow haunters and scare actors, we were eager to see if it lived up to the hype. Spoiler alert: it did!

As the leaves start to change and a crisp breeze settles in, there's no better way for families to welcome the fall season than with a visit to Corn Cob Acres in Mountville, PA. Corn Cob Acres is a family-friendly daytime event that runs on weekends from September through November, offering more than 50 different activities designed to entertain guests of all ages. Our First Experience at Discovery Cove!

Directly across the street from Seaworld Orlando lies a tropical hideaway where dozens of aquatic and avian animal species are allowed to run, play and interact with guests under the watchful eyes of the resort staff. We had never been to Discovery Cove, an all-inclusive day resort, until the summer of 2024 - and after visiting for the first time, we couldn’t wait to share our experience!

Our Aqua-mazing Day at Seaworld Orlando!

It’s been some time since our last visit to Seaworld Orlando, and despite the bad weather that was brewing, we were determined to make it out to this aqua-mazing park and claim the two brand-new roller coaster credits that lay waiting for us. If you’ve never been to Seaworld Orlando, we’re here to give you a long list of reasons why you should make it a part of your next Central Florida vacation!

Our Perfect Day at EPCOT!

One does not simply sleep in on the first day of a Walt Disney World vacation; as it happened, we were ready to hit the ground running, and our first gate was the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow…more conventionally known as EPCOT. Joined by our friend Frances, a fellow creator and Florida local, we took on almost every attraction and a number of first-time experiences at this Disney park in one single, perfect day!

Is Buc-ee's Worth the Hype?

Buc-ee’s has long been revered as the disneyland of gas stations. This travel hub has been recommended to us time and again by fellow road warriors in our circle, and when we set out for a sixteen hour drive to central Florida, we were sure to plan our first-ever visit to a Buc-ee’s location into our trip! So, what did we think? Was Buc-ee’s truly worth all the hype?

Summer Snacks at Hersheypark!

Each year brings new treats, sweets and savory food items to Hersheypark, and it’s become a tradition of ours to take a little stroll through our home park and pick up some of the new and interesting culinary creations to see what we think. This year, we also upgraded to the brand new Giant Size passholder tier, so we had a one-time fast track to use on any eligible ride as well as the new Giant Size lounge to check out!

Coasters and Cuisines at Busch Gardens' Food & Wine 2024!

It’s become an annual tradition of ours to make our way to Busch Gardens Williamsburg at least once every summer towards the end of Food & Wine season to check out all the delectable dishes that the event offers! In our opinion, this is one of the best festivals at the park, because the variety of food and entertainment offerings increases exponentially! So, what’s new for 2024?

We Returned to Dorney Park 4 Years Later!

This year, we made our glorious return to Dorney Park, home of the new-for-2024 B&M dive coaster Iron Menace! The park’s latest addition is its first new coaster in almost twenty years, and stands at 160 feet with a 95-degree drop all but consuming the skyline. Naturally, a coaster of this make, scale and reputation drew coaster enthusiasts from all over the country, and we were proud to be among them!

Is VIP Worth the Cost at FanExpo Events?

When we made the decision to attend FanExpo Philadelphia, there were a number of headlining celebrities that we were excited to meet, and - consequently - we decided to budget for VIP weekend admission. At a staggering $449 per person, we made it our mission to determine whether or not the VIP Experience was worth the price!
