A Very Hershey Christmas!

A Very Hershey Christmas!

In our last grand adventure of 2020, we made our usual trek out to Hershey, PA to visit Hersheypark for our very first time at their annual ‘Christmas Candylane’ event! Although everything about the event was new to us this year, there was quite a bit at the 2020 Candylane event that was new to everyone, too! To start, Hershey’s Chocolatetown offered parkgoers a rare chance to ride a 200 ft. hypercoaster (Candymonium) during the winter season; the park typically closes all steel coasters taller than 75’ (sooper dooper Looper and up) after the last ‘Hersheypark in the Dark’ weekend in order to prevent weather strain. Although we don’t know whether or not this arrangement will stick, Candymonium is presently an exception to the rule. The coaster can continue to run as long as temperatures remain above 35 degrees, per Hersheypark staff. Another new edition to the Candylane event this year was Treeville, a unique Christmas Tree trail winding through the seasonally-closed Boardwalk area and lighting up the season with festive representations of Hershey culture! But of course, to newbies like ourselves, a big part of the experience were standard ‘Candylane’ offerings such as the hot chocolate trucks, the Noel Christmas light show, Santa’s reindeer and so many beautiful lights and overlays! Check out our complete experience in our most recent vlog, below!
