Hollywood Magic at Disney After Hours!
Today’s vlog takes us back to our Spring 2023 Walt Disney World visit. This time, we are taking on our first After Hours event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We are no strangers to After Hours events, having done two at Magic Kingdom and one at Animal Kingdom (respectively) in the past, but we were curious to see how this one would compare. Disney After Hours are hard-ticketed events separate from any park admission or annual passes. The park in question remains open for select hours after closing for a limited number of guests. This is a great opportunity to experience lower wait times for many popular attractions and lower crowds overall in the park. It can really feel like you have the park to yourself at times…but because your time is so limited, you still have to choose your agenda wisely! Your ticket also includes unlimited complimentary snacks such as popcorn, Mickey Bars, popsicles, and soft drinks. Event-exclusive snacks may also be available for purchase at certain vendors.
In addition, your ticket will also get you into the select park a couple hours early, typically around 7:00 pm. You absolutely have to take advantage of the early entry because not every attraction or eatery will be open for the limited event. We cannot have a visit to Hollywood Studios without a viewing of Muppet Vision 3D, so that was our first stop after dinner. We were also able to knock out Alien Swirling Saucers and Toy Story Mania before the event officially kicked off. Our whirlwind three hours of exclusivity was full of characters, rides, performances, snacks and shows. Without a doubt, Katie’s favorite part of the day was having a dance-off with Donald in front of the Chinese Theater during the Wonderful World of Animation show. These After Hours events are pricey and short-lived, to be certain, but well worth the price if you're a big fan of rides at the Disney parks and want to do all of the 'big' attractions in a short amount of time. This event is all about packing a full park day into a couple of hours, and you can take advantage of low wait times, free snacks and even a few character meets during the After Hours event window!
