Why We Love the Rainforest Cafe
The ‘Rainforest Cafe’, a national chain with international notoriety, has long been a staple of the experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, to say nothing of its many locations all around the country. Most of the environmental experience is consistent from location to location, with few variances such as waterfall here and atlas globe there. The dining experience is much the same, with a set menu that varies very little from location to location. Many claim that the experience is not worth either the time or the money due to the price point of a ‘subpar’ meal; we beg to differ! Why? Because the Rainforest Cafe is not about the food - which, admittedly, is ‘meh’ - it’s about sitting in a static dark ride while you chow down on shrimp tacos and stir fry! Check out our in-depth review in the video below.
At between $25-$40 per person, it’s not a cheap eat if you’re interested in delectable cuisine, nor is it an ideal spot to grab a quick, hurried bite and get back to the park. But the Rainforest Cafe is a great experience that is worth making time for if you or your little ones are at all tickled by animatronics, dark ride effects, water features or extravagant theming, and can carve out the time to appreciate all of the above while you eat!
